Step by
Step-Instructions for the installation of the NumericalChameleons
on Windows.
GNU/Linux
with
Debian-Packagemanagement
for Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, Knoppix, Linspire, Xandros, Damn Small Linux,
etc.
Dowload the
.deb-file and enter on the command
line:
$ sudo dpkg -i ./numericalchameleon*.deb
Alternatively, open the .deb-package using the file manager of your
operating systems which starts the graphical packetmanager on many systems.
Just follow the instructions coming from the package manager in order to
install the software. The .deb extracts all required files to the folder
called /usr/share/numericalchameleon and it creates an suitable menu item,
preassumed that Gnome or KDE is installed.
with
rpm-Packagemanagement
for Red Hat, Fedora, CentOS, openSUSE, Mandriva, Mageia, Unity, etc.
Dowload the
.rpm-file and enter on the command
line:
$ su -
# rpm -ivh numericalchameleon*.rpm
without Debian-
or rpm-Packagemanagement
for Arch, Gentoo, Puppy, Slackware, and all others or if you simply
don't like package manager.
Download the
.bin-file
and start the self extracting script using root permissions ...
sudo bash ./nc-*-install.bin
The self extracting-script extracts all required files to the folder called
/usr/share/numericalchameleon and it creates an suitable menu item,
preasumed that Gnome or KDE is installed. In addition to that an
uninstaller will be created that can be used to uninstall the NC from your
computer again.
Alternatively you can install manually. That is useful if you don't have
root-permissions.
Download the
.tar.bz2-file and extract the
tarball to a folder of your choice:
bunzip2 < ./nc-*.tar.bz2 | tar xfv -
